International Mountain Leader
Martin Klucka
Martin is a young International Mountain Leader born in Slovakia, but based in eastern Switzerland for the past 12 years.
When not working as a guide, he is employed as a chemical engineer, and besides natural trails, he also loves natural science. He can explain why the sun shines, why the sky is blue and the grass is green, but also why we sometimes have to hurry and escape an approaching storm – despite the sky still being blue.
Martin is a keen traveller who enjoys discovering new places, meeting people, and understanding different cultures. His greatest passion is cycling, and with his touring bike, he has visited 38 countries across 4 continents.
He has also trekked in the Peruvian Andes, Turkey, and the Georgian Caucasus, but has also explored some lesser-known yet beautiful regions in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other parts of Central Asia.
He appeals to everyone to remember that nature can exist without people, but we cannot exist without nature. Therefore, we should treat this planet and all living beings with gratitude and respect.
