ON THE TRAIL
WHAT IT'S LIKE UNDERFOOT
The Arkaba Walk traverses a diverse range of natural Outback terrain. Underfoot, you’ll encounter well-defined station tracks, dry creek beds, rocky ridge-lines, open grasslands and gently undulating bush trails. Sections of the walk include loose stones, gravel, exposed rock and uneven ground, requiring careful footing, while sandy creek crossings and grassy plains provide easier walking. The terrain is generally dry, with little mud, but sturdy hiking boots are recommended for stability and comfort. Although the trail is not technically difficult, the combination of uneven surfaces, rocky sections makes it best suited to walkers with a moderate level of fitness.
