International Mountain Leader
Matthew Breakell
The mountains have shaped my life for more than two decades. What began as a teenage passion for rock climbing and mountaineering soon grew into a love of fell running, eventually leading me to the trails and peaks of the Alps.
After studying Outdoor Leadership in England’s Lake District, I moved to Chamonix, where I’ve spent years exploring the mountains on foot. Along the way, I’ve completed some of Europe’s most iconic ultra-distance races, including UTMB, TDS, Tor des Géants, and Ultra Tour Monte Rosa. While I enjoy the challenge of long days in the mountains, what I value most is sharing those experiences with others.
As a guide, I believe the best way to learn is by doing. I enjoy helping people build confidence on the trails, move comfortably through mountain terrain, and discover the simple joy of being outdoors. Whether it’s your first trail adventure or your biggest challenge yet, my goal is to create an experience that’s supportive, rewarding, and filled with memorable moments in the mountains.
