Camino (local contact in Spain)
Germán Limeres
Born in Bern, Switzerland, where his Galician born father was working as a chef, Germán developed an interest in travel at a young age, when the family returned home to settle in Sarria, a town in Galicia, in Northern Spain. Whilst he has lived in the Camino heartland ever since, his passion for travel has taken him all over the world.
His favourite adventures include walking the Camino de Santiago from St Jean to Finisterre, trekking through the Alps, crossing the Matmata Desert in Tunisia in an all terrain car, kayaking in the rivers of the Picos de Europa and experiencing Cuba on a photographic tour.
Germán has a masters degree in Tourism from the University of Santiago, holds credentials as an official Spanish guide, and is a specialist guide for several of the Camino routes.
Combined with a love of travel is his passion for food, wine and photography. German is passionate about the Camino and sharing his vast local knowledge to RAW travellers whilst they are on the Camino and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Germán is soon to complete studies in the culinary arts. He is also a travel photographer, and has several photographic exhibitions about the Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
Up and coming adventures include travelling to Australia, walking the Kumano Kodo, experiencing a food tour of India and hiking in Iceland.
