Team Leader, Japan

Chris Kavanagh

Chris is our Japan Team Leader. She began working in the adventure travel industry in 1999 and has indulged her love of trekking and getting off the beaten track ever since.

In addition to walking both the Kumano Kodo and Nakasendo Way, her most memorable treks include the Simien Mountains in Ethiopia, the gorillas in Rwanda, the Himalayas, and summitting Mount Kilimanjaro. At sea level, Chris is also very fortunate to have visited the stunning Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, South Georgia and the Arctic regions including Greenland.

In 2011, taking a break from travel to pursue her other love of health and fitness, Chris ran her own personal training business. It wasn’t long before she missed being immersed in the world of travel and exploration and is now back combining her two biggest passions.

For Chris, exploring a country while combining a challenge and spending quality time in nature is the ultimate way to reconnect. Next on her travel wish list is Bhutan and the Atlas mountains in Morocco.
