Yoga Class
All hotels we are staying at have a private space to practice yoga. We will start the day at 6.30am with a 1 hour yoga class suited to all levels including:
- Sun salutations to warm the body
- asana (body movements)
- pranayama (breath awareness/exercises)
- meditation
- self-reflection
Every evening we will finish off the day with a deep stretch and guided meditation at a time suitable for the group.

Portugal
Please note this particular itinerary does not go through Portugal, even though it is called the Portuguese Coastal Way. If you would like to start your walk in Portugal, please contact us to arrange this. There is an option to walk from Porto (Portugal) to Baiona before you join this trip.

ARRIVAL DAY INTO BAIONA
Arrive any time into Baiona. Baiona is a charming seaside village with an authentic Spanish presence. Take some time to try the local tapas and meander through the enchanting cobblestone streets. You will be staying at the Parador De Baiona, which has stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. Relax while enjoying the views and first-class facilities on offer. The evening yoga and meditation session will take place in the grounds of the Parador. (Please check at reception upon check in for the details exact meeting time and place for the first evening.)
BAIONA TO VIGO (24KM)
Begin the day with an energising early morning yoga session at the Parador before breakfast, then set off for your day’s walk. Today you will be following the coast closely. You will pass through villages with an almost Mediterranean like ambience and enjoy views that are incredible across the bay of Vigo with the Cies Islands in the background. Vigo is a large industrial city and as you approach Vigo you will pass highways, industrial areas and busy roads. Upon arrival take some time to relax before meeting later in the evening for a deep stretch and meditation session.

VIGO TO REDONDELA (16KM)
The day starts with an invigorating early morning yoga class before breakfast, then you set off for the day. From the city of Vigo you will continue on the Coastal Way. The Camino to Redondela is a pleasant walk offering beautiful ocean views before you walk inland through a string of hillside villages. Your stop for the night is the town of Redondela, known as the Village of Viaducts, where all the Coastal Camino joins the original Portuguese Camino Way to Santiago de Compostela. In the evening enjoy a deep stretch and meditation session; refresh and reflect, while soaking up the beauty of your surrounds.

REDONDELA TO PONTEVEDRA (20KM)
Today starts with an early morning rejuvenating yoga session. After breakfast, you will set off for a beautiful day of walking. Pass through the village of Arcade, famous for the best oysters in Galicia, before entering the forest into one of the most beautiful stretches of the Camino. Follow ancient stone paths through lush green woodland and growth. The path then widens among fields and vineyards before you arrive into Pontevedra. Pontevedra has a great energy, which is obvious upon arrival, so spend some time enjoying the local atmosphere. Meet in the evening for a deep stretch to soothe your muscles. You’ll have time to meditate and reflect on your journey so far.

PONTEVEDRA TO CALDAS DE REIS (22KM)
Wake early for an energising yoga session before breakfast. Today the Camino Portuguese will take you over the O Burgo bridge and through chestnut groves and pine and eucalyptus trees. Emerging from the woods at Lombo da Maceira, a statue of Saint James with his walking stick points the way to Santiago. Pass the pretty village of Tivo with its lovely fountain and public washing area. Continue through rural fields and vineyards to the Roman-influenced town of Caldas de Reis. Soak your feet in the thermal springs upon your arrival into town. Tonight’s accommodation is a real treat, so take some time to absorb the nature, sounds and facilities. A sunset deep stretch and meditation session will relax you into the evening.

CALDAS DE REIS TO PADRON (19KM)
This morning’s yoga class takes place in the beautiful hotel grounds. Set off after breakfast on a beautiful route. The path takes you through pine forests and rural areas through the Bermana and Verga valleys to the town of Padron. When the body of St James was being brought to Compostela by boat, Padron was said to be the first land it reached. A blissful deep stretch and meditation will complete your day.

PADRON TO SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA (26KM)
Enjoy a final morning yoga session before breakfast. Today’s walk is through woodland and on increasingly busy roads. You’ll pass through several small villages and the suburbs of Santiago de Compostela. After crossing the Sar River, continue through the streets of the city via Porto Faxeira, the entrance of the Portuguese Way into Santiago de Compostela. Make your way via Rua Franco to Praza das Praterias and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. In the evening, enjoy a final deep stretch and meditation session, with personal time to reflect on your yoga and Camino experience.
