Zoe Rees

Zoe has more than 18 years’ experience in the travel industry, spending a large portion of that time in the adventure travel sector.

She has worked for some of the world’s leading companies, tailoring itineraries and looking after private groups travelling through Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East. Most recently, Zoe worked in the luxury travel industry.

Her passions in life are quite simple, with travel at the forefront – sparked from a young age when she travelled frequently between Australia and the UK. Zoe loves learning about new destinations, cultures, food, languages, people, wildlife, landscapes and architecture. Over the years, she has travelled extensively through Southeast Asia, Europe, East Africa, the Middle East, India, Sri Lanka and parts of Australia.

Zoe travels in a way that respects the local cultures and environment, and she loves to incorporate walking into her explorations. Some of her favourite experiences include climbing Mt Kinabalu in Borneo; trekking to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Peak, as well as the Annapurna Dhaulagiri in Nepal; trekking to Bhutan’s Tiger’s Nest; swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines; and climbing Mt Sinai in Egypt.

Some of the highlights during Zoe’s travels on the Kumano Kodo and Nakasendo Way, include ‘forest bathing’ on the Kumano Kodo, experiencing a guided walk on the Women’s Pilgrimage trail at Koyasan, and learning about the Samurai history on the Nakasendo Way.
