Simon Schubert

Simon is a horticulturalist, preservationist and budding environmental novelist. He can’t get enough of the outdoors, whether it’s hiking camping or travel – a love that began with Scouts way back in his pre-teens.

Simon has travelled extensively throughout Australia and overseas. He loves wild places and wishes to visit as many of these as possible in his lifetime. His most memorable hikes include the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail in Japan, which he found spectacular, mystical and spiritual, and a self-guided trek on the Larapinta Trail in the Norther Territory, which he says was hardcore, spectacular and brutal.

Simon love to practise yoga and garden. Wherever he lives, he surrounds himself with plants, trees and forest. In his current location on the Gold Coast, he has planted more than 3,000 native trees!
