Thanks to the marvels of Swiss transport, no support van is needed on this trip; we often use cable cars to access the best high-altitude hikes.
It's not all physical! The towns and villages in the Swiss Alps are great places to relax. Taste traditional fondues and mouthwatering mountain cuisine, or sip a cocktail or two on a sun terrace while soaking up the stunning mountain scenery.

Start your Swiss mountain trip in the impressive and vibrant village of Zermatt and come face-to-face with the towering and hypnotic Matterhorn (4478m), Switzerland’s most famous landmark. Enjoy exploring the many fabulous hiking trails this area has to offer.
Expect twisty hair-pin corners, high elevations, steep grades and jaw-dropping views of the Bernese Alps on this exquisite mountain drive through the panoramic Grimsel Pass (2164m). This wild region in the Swiss Alps is characterised by granite rocks and sparkling reservoir lakes.
Discovering Switzerland’s areas of unspoilt natural beauty is easy in this wonderful rustic village. As well as scenic walks, traditional Swiss cableways, and hearty mountain food, you can enjoy cheese tasting and a visit to the famous 12th century Benedictine monastery.
June through September is the best time to walk in the Swiss Alps. July is the warmest month (it doesn’t get that hot in the mountains) and the wildflowers are in bloom; usually, there is not much rain in July.
The winter starts early and ends late in the mountain towns. August is also a good month for hiking, but you can get snow. September is also good weather, but by October it can get very cold.
