Marketing Lead & Business Support
Samantha McCrow
Sam is a writer, hiker, swimmer, trail runner, volunteer lifesaver and adventure traveller. She brings 20+ years of marketing and communications experience to RAW Travel. Her habit of gravitating towards values-based, socially responsible organisations has led to many rewarding roles in the areas of international aid and development, public health/health promotion and domestic and global travel.
Sam grew up in the picturesque village of North Queensferry on the southern end of the popular Fife Coastal Path, one of Scotland’s Great Trails. Migrating to Australia as a young teenager was the catalyst for her wanderlust, which she has tried to satisfy ever since.
Sam’s travel highlights include working and living on a kibbutz in Israel’s Negev Desert, exploring the epic temples of Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, hiking through the thrilling Todra Gorge in Southern Morocco, and plunging into the icy waters at the Arctic Circle.
Sam got a taste of pilgrim life when she walked a section of the stunning Via Podiensis (Le Puy Camino) through south-west France. A few years ago, she had a profoundly uplifting experience in Nepal when she completed a thigh-burning trek in the Annapurna foothills and enjoyed a short stay in a heavenly hillside yoga retreat.
She now has has her heart set on exploring the legendary city of Timbuktu in Mali and trekking the majestic Italian Dolomites.
