A better planet, one walk at a time…
“When you travel with RAW, you become part of something bigger. You are guaranteed to leave a lasting positive impact on the planet” Birte Moliere, RAW Travel Sustainability Lead
At RAW, we are committed to making the world a little better – one walk at a time. A leader in responsible travel, we thrive on making a real difference to our local community in Australia and in our travel destinations. Over the years we have supported many charities – tackling environmental issues and improving the livelihoods of vulnerable communities. Our charity challenges have helped raise over $A18 million in funds for 40+ charities around the world.
Our commitment to giving back doesn’t stop there. We believe in the power of our passionate staff and travellers working together and to ‘get hands-on’ for a better planet. That’s why our staff commit 3 working days a year to community service, providing essential support for our charity and non-profit partners.
Who we partner with
Our partners are carefully selected based on a set of selection criteria – to make sure our support results in real tangible change. This year, we are growing our partnerships with a sensational bunch of charities and foundations. Here are some of the groups we are privileged to work with:
Fusion
A national charity, working to support vulnerable youth with a fabulous track record. Fusion support youth in very tangible ways including housing, training and development.
Beach Patrol Australia
Our partnership has kicked off with local beach cleans on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, and we will invite you to join our future beach cleans in support of healthy oceans. Date claimers for our next cleans will be posted on the RAW Facebook page.
Landcare
More exciting news! We are planting one tree per customer as part of our bigger goal to become carbon neutral. We are kicking off by officially partnering with the Mornington Peninsula’s Landcare Group for a National Tree Planting Day in July 2019.
Helping Hands/Envision
We are championing Australia’s ‘War on Waste’ and are on a journey of ‘zero waste to landfill’. Our Mornington head office is a drop-off point for bottle tops which are turned into prosthetic hands for children in developing countries.
We are also collecting bread tags, which are used to make wheelchairs. We encourage you to drop your lids and bread tags off at the RAW Travel Hub or check for alternative drop off points here.
