Helen’s spirit of adventure was sparked by a year in Sri Lanka on a student exchange program. Once she completed school, she quickly snapped up the opportunity to embark on a career in adventure travel and feels very fortunate to have travelled to all seven continents. She has also taken two trans Asia overland trips during her 30-year industry career and spent time as a tour leader in the Middle East leading groups around Egypt, Israel and Jordan.
Helen has trekked to Nepal’s Everest Base Camp and hiked the Inca Trail in Peru. She also successfully completed Oxfam Trailwalker 100km fundraiser event in 2017. Her passion for mountain scenery has led her to spend considerable time travelling in the South Island of New Zealand. It’s one of her all-time favourite destinations, so she’s well-equipped to assist RAW’s clients with their travel plans, including walking the stunning Queen Charlotte and Abel Tasman tracks.
Closer to home, Helen loves taking her teenage kids on regular walks around Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. She’s also a big fan of the Grampians and has enjoyed exploring Central Australia on foot. One day soon, she hopes to hike the Mont Blanc Circuit and see the spectacular scenery of the European Alps.
