A 12-month stay in China when Amy was aged 12 inspired her love of travel and worldwide exploration. After completing an Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management Amy spent several years working in the travel industry in Melbourne before heading over to the USA where she worked for an international walking company for 3 years. Many incredible travel and walking experiences later, Amy brings her passion and enthusiasm back to Melbourne and the RAW Travel team.
Amy loves travel experiences that offer an authentic opportunity to truly immerses herself in the local culture, food, wildlife and traditions of a destination.
Amy’s travel highlights include Vermont, Quebec City and Africa, where she trekked through the forests of Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas, tracked rhinos on foot in Namibia, hot-air ballooned over the grand dunes of Sossusvlei, and discovered some insights into the lives of the Himba tribes.
Amy has walked Japan’s ancient Nakasendo Way, the beautiful Tuscan trails of Italy’s Via Francigena and England’s rugged South West Coast Path. Most recently, she has been horse riding across the Scottish Highlands.
