Gary Hodgson

Gary is an International Mountain Leader who guides our Mont Blanc treks. He has been active in the mountains of the UK, Europe and beyond since he was a teenager. Gary loves walking and climbing on big mountains and is equally happy trekking around and through them.

Gary has Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Awards for all UK hillwalking and skills courses. He has lived in the highlands of Scotland for most of his adult life and runs his own guided walking and skills courses: www.tarmachan-mountaineering.org.uk

Gary has led more than 50 groups on the Tour du Mont Blanc – that’s how good it is and how much he enjoys it! In addition to the excellent trekking, he loves meeting new people and the amazing wildlife, flora, culture and history of the European Alps. Gary will tell you exactly where certain species of flowers grow, where ibex and other animals are likely to be seen, and the best places to stop en route for coffee and cake!
