Leader (Great Ocean Walk)

Eric Ward

Eric was born in Mauritius to British parents. As a young boy he lived in many countries including Kenya, Cyprus, Germany and England before finally arriving in Australia.

Eric loves exploring new places and meeting new people. If the destination offers something different he wants to be there with other people who have similar goals.

An enthusiastic outdoors person, Eric has trekked, cycled and paddled in most parts of the world. He loves to ski, mountain bike and kayak and he particularly likes to sit around an open fire and chat.

Eric brings years of travel experience to RAW. He has led groups on extended tours to many destinations including Patagonia, Peru, Croatia, Turkey, Cambodia, Vietnam, Egypt and Sri Lanka. In Australia he has led groups through the Red Centre, Flinders Ranges, Great Ocean Road, Grampians, and Tasmania’s Bay of Fires and Franklin River.

Eric also loves family camping trips. A stand-out was canoeing down the Snowy River for a week with his children when they were primary school age. Eric recently returned from a month of trekking and camping in the East Kimberley region of the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
