Dave Reynolds
Dave Reynolds is the founder of RAW Travel & RAW Challenges.
Dave credits his wanderlust to his Celtic ancestry and a strong desire to escape the North of England where he grew up! He spent most of his 20's globetrotting and working in an extraordinary variety of jobs through North America, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. The priority always being to save money for the next life adventure. With a growing realisation that some cases of 'Travelitis' can never be cured, a career in adventure travel seemed the best option.
Whilst leading and organizing challenge groups from the UK in 1999, Dave experienced the power of this concept to inspire individuals while helping charities and communities. A move to Australia with his wife led to establishing 'Intrepid Challenges' in 2002 ( later to become RAW), which grew to become the leading operator of Charity Challenges in Australia & New Zealand.
Nowadays Dave indulges his passion for active adventures by designing new trips for RAW (occasionally escaping the office to lead them as well). Having led over 60 groups he finds "real job satisfaction comes from the opportunity to inspire and change people, as travelling exposes us to the different realities and incredible diversity of our world. Hopefully then it's more than just another holiday but a catalyst for positive change".
As a keen outdoor enthusiast with an unquenchable thirst for new horizons Dave is always planning his next adventure and having introduced his three year old daughter to overseas travel he's looking forward to developing a line in family adventures!
All time favourite travel experiences include: "Kayaking Alaska, exploring Cambodian temples, tracking tigers on foot in Nepal and pretty much anything in the Himalayas!"
