Adam Platt - Hepworth
Adam worked for the National Australia bank for around eight years. In 2003, Adam bought a bike and started riding to work. He decided to join a fundraiser ride through China, and that's where it all began. The following year, it was Sri-Lanka, the year after that, a solo bike tour through Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. In 2006, Adam bid farewell to his job as a Business Manager at the bank and traded job security for adventure! He has never looked back. He has spent his time since then, leading tours through South East Asia, including some of the most remote corners of this fantastic region.
Adam now heads up RAW Travel in Cambodia. He still gets to lead a few trips and dedicates a lot of his time to the development and training of staff. He strives to deliver a top quality experience to our travelers through nurturing staff individuality and rewarding innovation.
What does Adam have to say about his job? "I really enjoy showing people this part of the world on a bike. I don't expect everyone to throw in their job or anything, but I do expect that these experiences will have a profound and life changing effect on the people who try it. I love this part of the world, because there is a whole different priority system to our western one, and every day, I have at least one moment, where my interaction with the people warms the heart. The food, the landscape and the randomness of daily life are just part of it, but the people are the highlight."
